Fundraising ChairSince 2022
A Chicago area resident all his life, Nick’s interest in Renaissance faires began as a teen when he attended the Bristol Faire and found that not only did it meld with his longtime love of mythology and fantasy literature, but here were “his people.” For him, Bristol was both a place to escape to, and a place to come home to. Since that first extraordinary, “mind-blowing,” foundational day in 2006, he has barely missed a weekend, and soon began travelling to experience other faires in the Midwest, as often as possible. He is enamored by the crafts, the performances, the atmosphere—but most of all by the people.
Nick began volunteering with RESCU as a way to give back to the community that had brought so much joy into his life and into the world. First, working as a general volunteer, Nick soon moved into the role of bursar for events at his home show of Bristol, and at the Michigan Renaissance Festival. As an extension of those annual positions, he joined the Fundraising Committee and upon joining the Board of Directors, became Co-Chair, and more recently Chair of that committee.
Nick comes to the Board with years of experience in customer service, auditing, and management. He is currently employed by the University of Illinois Chicago Hospital and is pursuing a BS in accounting at the university. When not working or volunteering, Nick can be found hiking with his dog, reading, or gaming.
