Born in California, JodyLee is a retired college biology professor. One of her former students invited her to attend the Arizona Renaissance Festival, and after going to one, she and her husband, Steve, were hooked. They spent five years with season tickets as playtrons before auditioning to be Street cast. The next eight years they performed in Arizona and guested at other faires around the country.

She and her husband love to travel, team cook, garden and birdwatch. They are involved in food distribution programs and other community improvement projects.
