About Us
Since its inception in 2003, with an ever-expanding number of volunteers and a small, dedicated staff, RESCU has served thousands of individuals. RESCU’s education and wellness programs help the community stay healthy. When financial need arises, RESCU is there and has disbursed over $1.9 million in direct medical aid. Its mentoring and advocacy programs have enabled well over $4.7 million in medical bill abatement, aiding and empowering the people being served. This ensures that the multitude of talented people who work at Renaissance festivals can continue to share traditional skills and art forms that would otherwise disappear from our modern society. By so doing, they educate our youth about important periods of history and inspire future generations to broaden their knowledge about the world at large.
What is RESCU?
The acronym RESCU stands for Renaissance Entertainers Services Crafters United. It was founded in 2003 by a group of dedicated individuals united in their commitment to provide resources for dealing with the medical needs of their community.
